In just one week, thousands of satellite, space and connectivity professionals will descend upon Washington D.C. for SATELLITE 2019 – the world’s largest satellite and space event that is in the business of meaningful connections.
It’s an exciting time to be in the satellite and space business, with the promise of 3D printing of rockets and satellites in space, satellite-powered applications and the emergence of “smart” everything, diminishing the digital divide through connectivity and the ever-growing diversity within our community. This excitement bleeds into SATELLITE 2019, and if you’ve taken a look at our program, you know what I mean!
We’re extremely honored to welcome the U.S. Vice President Mike Pence for a special keynote address on Monday, May 6 at 1:15pm, following the luncheon keynote address that will be given by Klaus Bruun Egeberg, Head of Mobility & Connectivity, Future Solutions Fleet Management & Technology, Maersk. The luncheon keynote address and special keynote address are open to All-Access pass holders only, so register today to secure your seat if you haven’t done so!
The first day of SATELLITE 2019 ends with the Lunar Ball Welcome Reception at 5:30pm, in the Ballroom Pre-function area on the third floor of the convention center. As we hurdle towards human spaceflight and commercial space tourism, it seems fitting to raise a glass and celebrate 50 years since man first stepped foot on the moon. All attendees are welcome, you just need to register for SATELLITE 2019!
Speaking of NASA, we recently confirmed that NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine will deliver welcome remarks at our Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, May 8. And at the Awards Luncheon, we will announce the winners of Via Satellite’s Satellite Executive of the Year and Satellite Technology of the Year, as well as the winners of the Startup Space pitch competition. In the spirit of unity and inclusion, for the first time ever, the community can vote which nominee they feel deserves to win the Satellite Executive of the Year and the Satellite Technology of the Year Awards. To cast your ballot, simply visit www.ViaSatellite.com/vote before voting closes on Tuesday, May at noon ET. The Startup Space pitch competition takes place on the Exhibit Show Floor in the Unveiled Theater on Tuesday, May 7.
You can view the complete program online at www.SATShow.com, and don’t forget to peruse the exhibitor list while you’re there and create your “must-see” list. With more than 300 exhibiting companies on the show floor, you’re sure to get first-hand experience of the next-gen technology that is propelling us into the future.
Looking forward to seeing you next week!
