What is Satellite 101?

The Satellite 101 program is a brand new series of conference sessions designed to guide you through the week, giving you pointers on how to navigate the show floor and discover the best sessions for your objectives. The series will provide you with general intro to the satellite industry, bringing you up to speed on need-to-know acronyms, the different sectors of the industry, and how to integrate satellite into your overall business plan.

Where is it located?

The Satellite 101 Program sessions are located in the SATELLITE Unveiled Theater in booth 236 directly on the Exhibition Show Floor and is open to all attendees!

Satellite 101 Sessions:

  • Welcome to SATELLITE! – This presentation explains how to navigate our event and provides an overview of our diverse range of attendees, vendors, and conference sessions. We’ll outline the different sectors of the satellite industry, provide a summary of market leaders and new entrants, and define many of the most popular terms and phrases you’ll hear throughout the next four days.
  • What is High-Throughput Satellite? An Introduction to HTS and Other Acronyms – Learn about the history, evolution, and capability of modern HTS services, as well as other related acronyms, including: GEO, MEO, and LEO; and what the different bands mean in terms of performance and availability.
  • How to Acquire Commercial Satellite Bandwidth for your Business – Learn how satellite services are becoming easier to install and manage — saving millions on infrastructure costs for commercial, enterprise and governments customers. Attend this session and know more about what you need to buy to meet your needs!
  • How to Build Your Satellite Network on the Ground – This session provides a blueprint for the ground systems and hardware needed to connect to the satellite network. Building infrastructure on the ground can be cost prohibitive, but new advancements in antenna hardware and miniaturization are making satellite connectivity more accessible than ever.
